It has a maximum weight capacity of 250kg, allowing two passengers to enjoy a tandem flight with ease.

Safety and simplicity are at the heart of the Aerochute’s design. It cannot stall or spin, and in the event of an engine failure, it will gently descend like a parachute, ensuring a safe landing. This makes the Aerochute a fun, safe, and affordable way to explore the skies.

As a Power Parachute registered under the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), the Aerochute meets strict aviation safety standards and is approved under CASA’s Civil Aviation Order 95-32. Unlike traditional aircraft with complex controls, the Aerochute operates similarly to a parachute, making it simple and intuitive to fly.

Why Aerochute?

The military has also adopted Aerochutes for special operations.

One of the best aspects is the flexibility to fly your Aerochute wherever there is no restricted airspace. All you need is a suitable spot for take-off and landing, making it one of the most convenient and accessible ways to experience flight.

There are several options for buying a new or used Aerochute, and to start flying, you’ll need an RaAus Pilot’s license, which requires around 15-20 hours of training. Once you have it, you can enjoy the freedom of flying your very own Aerochute!

Hummerchute MZ202 (2023)

The Hummerchute MZ202 is the latest addition to the Hummerchute lineup, now powered by the Fiate MZ202 engine, replacing the previous 582 Rotax model. This new setup delivers similar performance but allows for a more flexible maintenance schedule, with a starter motor and clutch gearbox included as standard, making it easier and more cost-effective to own and operate.

The Hummerchute series enhances lifting performance while maintaining the safety and stability features that have made the original design a trusted choice for over 28 years of safe, stable, and enjoyable flying.

Key features of the Hummerchute include increased size and power. It boasts a larger engine, head plate, propeller, and seating capacity, which result in exceptional performance, faster climb rates, and the ability to fly hands-free using weight-shifting techniques. The Hummerchute has an all-up weight (AUW) of 360kg, allowing two large adults to fly together and achieve a climb rate of up to 1,000 feet in under three minutes. The center of gravity (CoG) has been rigorously tested and adjusted to accommodate the increased power and engine mounting points, ensuring the same stability as the original Aerochute, but with significantly more power.

When flying solo, the wider seat allows the pilot to fly hands-free by shifting their weight. After a normal takeoff, the hand controls can be released, and thanks to the inherent stability of the Aerochute canopy, flying hands-free is both safe and enjoyable without the swaying motion typical of powered parachutes. With the seatbelt fastened, the pilot can shift from one side of the seat to the other to steer the Hummerchute, making it possible to complete precise circuit patterns and line up for landing—all while flying hands-free, comfortably seated in what feels like a lounge chair in the sky!

The Hummerchute 582

The HummerChute 582 is a powered parachute design from Aerochute International which features a Rotax 582 engine. This model in the Aerochute line delivers enhanced lifting performance while retaining the safety and stability features that have made Aerochutes reliable for 28 years of safe, stable, and enjoyable flying.

Key highlights of this HummerChute include increased size and power, with a larger engine, head plate, propeller, and seating capacity. These upgrades result in outstanding performance, faster climb rates, and the added benefit of hands-free flying using weight-shifting techniques. With an all-up weight (AUW) of 360kg, the HummerChute can comfortably accommodate two large adults and climb to 1,000 feet in less than three minutes. The center of gravity (CoG) has been carefully adjusted and tested to handle the extra power, ensuring the same stability as the original Aerochute, but with significantly more power.

Aerochute Industries has been working towards electrifying its aircraft for several years and successfully completed a maiden flight in early 2018. The Aerochute-E model is a single-seat aircraft with a payload capacity of up to 90kg. Its inaugural flight lasted 30 minutes, and as battery technology improves with higher energy density, the goal is to extend the flight time to 1 hour. We're excited about this achievement, as it marks the first electric-powered aircraft of its kind to fly in Australia.
